Buddy Bass Tournament Rules

1. Eligibility: Participation will be open to all customers registered at Crest Lodge for a minimum of 2 nights. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. All contestants must live outside a 50 mile radius of Kimberling City, Missouri

2. Tackle and Equipment: Only artificial baits or lures may be used. Pork baits are allowed. No trolling. All fish must be caught on rod and reel. Only one rod and reel may be used at one time.

3. Safety and Sportsmanship: All contestants are expected to follow high standards of sportsmanship, courtesy, safety and conservation. Life jackets must be worn while on plane. Kill switches are required.

4. Permitted Fishing Locations: Anywhere on the tournament lake, except 50 yards from another contestant's boat or take-off area.

5. No Trailered Boats: Boats must be launched and docked at the sponsored resort

6. Scoring: Scoring will be determined by the pounds and ounces of each boat's catch during the tournament . Only Large mouth, Spotted and Smallmouth Bass will be weighted.

There will be a limit of 6 bass per boat with a length of 15 inches or longer

There will be a penalty of 1/2 lb. for each dead fish weighed. Fish will be weighted on a Golden Rule fish board. The penalty for a short fish will the loss of that fish plus 1 pound. Any fish that appears to have been mangled, mashed, mauled, altered, frozen or iced will result in immediate disqualification. This is a live release tournament, so every effort must be made to keep the fish alive. All fish become the property of the tournament committee.

7. Ties: In case of a tie, the winner will be determined by the the number of fish, then by the earliest entry

8. Official Checkpoint: There shall be only one official checkpoint for check-out and boat inspection in the morning, and one checkpoint for check-in in the evening. Contestants who are not in the official checkpoint area at 4:00 p.m. will be penalized at the rate of 1-lb per minute to be deducted from the team's total weight, including any weight to be counted toward the Big Bass Award. Any competitor more than 15 minutes late will be credited with no weight.
